Liechtenstein Panoramaweg, stage 1

The Liechtenstein Panoramaweg (sign post 66) is a classic hike in Liechtenstein. As part of a 3 to 4 day tour, it combines the experience of magnificent flower filled mountain ridges, mountain huts, and summits with panoramic views from Rätikon to Lake Constance.

The series starts with the magnificent Fürstin-Ginaweg path. The chairlift from Malbun to the top station at the panoramic restaurant «Sareiserjoch» is highly recommended: An alternative would be to take the path used for baby carriages and signed as the transport road. The Fürstin-Ginaweg follows the ridge path with its beautiful views, up to the summit cross on the Augstenberg, which is the highest point of the Liechtenstein Panoramaweg. From there, it descends down a steep and rocky path to the charming Pfälzerhütte, which is an ideal location for the first overnight stop. If weather conditions permit, the next morning, sure-footed hikers without a fear of heights can treat themselves to a side trip and climb the Napfkopf. Afterwards, you will continue along the Panoramaweg from Pfälzerhütte, across the northern flank of Naafkopf and through the scree near the end of the Valüna valley then descend down to the Schwarztobel ravine and Alpetli.

The entire path offers breath taking views and leads you to the Samina valley where you can see the little chapel of the hamlet of Steg with sign posts of overnight possibilities or you can stay at the mountain guest house «Sücka» (currently closed - we suggest to take the bus to Malbun for a overnight stay), which lies right on the path.
