Liechtenstein Panoramaweg, stage 2

The Liechtenstein Panoramaweg (sign post 66) is a classic hike in Liechtenstein. As part of a 3 to 4 day tour, it combines the experience of magnificent flower filled mountain ridges, mountain huts, and summits with panoramic views from Rätikon to Lake Constance.

The second stage leads from Steg to the Gafadura hut. The path is easy, offers great views and takes you past the Silum alp, at first on the Panoramaweg and then along the same path as the Via Alpina that follows the Fürstensteig, one of the most daring paths of the Rätikon. The path, carved into the cliffs, winds between bizarre rock formations taking you higher and higher until the view opens onto the Voralberg forest at the Gaflei saddle. Partly on the east side, partly on the ridge, the Panoramaweg rises to the summit cross on the Gafleispitz and reaches the promising views of the Kuhgrat. After descending the Garsellikopf a secured steep path awaits to take you across the flanks of the Drei Schwestern (Three Sisters). Then the road descends with a view of Säntis to a well-earned rest in the Gafadura hut.
