From Vaduz via the Grüschaweg to Triesenberg
From the capital through the princely forest to the Walser village of Triesenberg. You are able to take a very close look at Vaduz Castle and then ascend steadily through shady woods. The astonishing view of the valley and the Swiss mountains give an interesting overview of the Rhine valley.
From the small car-free 'Städtle', we follow a steep alleyway and footpath to the castle (no visitation). Then, we experience the atmosphere of the beautiful beech wood forest which is especially pretty in spring, when the leaves sprout, or in October, when autumn turns them auburn. The old houses and barns of Litze, a hamlet of Triesenberg, are witnesses of the Walser peasantry.
Tip: A detour from ,Litze' to the hamlet of Wangerberg with its old barns is worthwhile.
Family tip: Ride around Vaduz on the Citytrain (duration: 35 mins), or visit the Walser museum in Triesenberg .
Alternative A: Doing a big loop (distance: 5.2 kms / elevation difference: 74 m) around the village of Triesenberg, you will get to Vaduz Castle via Rotenboden and Frommenhaus.
Distance : 5 km
Ascent : 439 m
Descent : 439 m
Highestpoint : 884 m
