From Malbun via Valorsch valley to Steg
The Galinakopf (2198 m) is considered to be one of the most beautiful lookout mountains in the Liechtenstein Alps. The lengthy but varied ascent follows comfortable, up-and-down mountain trails and roadways. The descent to Steg leads through the wild and romantic Valorsch valley.
Trail sign posts below the Chapel of Peace in Malbun point to our destination. Sassförkle, Mattaförkle and Guschgfieljoch are the most famous passages on our route. Via the steeply ascending pastureland, which is visible from far, we approach the cross on the summit of the mountain. On arrival, we look out at the numerous peaks in the wider surroundings. From the alp cabins of Guschgfiel, we follow the descending, marked trail through sparse mountain forest to the Valorsch valley, and hike on the shady, north-facing slope around the Schönberg.
Tip: On the way to Galinakopf, we discover beautiful flora.
Family tip: Ascend in the early hours and take sufficient drinks with you, especially on hot summer days .
Alternative A: Possibility to shorten the tour right after Sassförkle, via Güschgle and Hintervalorsch (658 m of elevation less to master).
