Snowshoe Tour Taster Course

In connection with a beginner's tour (approx. 2 - 2.5 hours), Kathi will explain to you some basics in the areas relevant to snowshoes, such as walking technique, material, equipment, avalanche report (where do I get the latest information from), risk assessment, what to look out for in nature, especially in wildlife rest and protection zones, what is the best technique in steep terrain, etc.

Snowshoes and poles can be hired from Kathi for CHF 18.00 per person.

Equipment

• Sturdy waterproof mountain boots/winter shoes (gaiters if available)
• Weatherproof, breathable winter hiking clothing, layering principle
• Gore-Tex jacket
• Backpack with spare underwear, warm jumper
• Gloves, cap
• Food and drinks (tea)
• Sun protection (sun cream, sunglasses, cap)
