More sports activities in winter
Lake "Egelsee" is a lake in the border area between the municipality of Mauren in Liechtenstein and Feldkirch in Austria. The state border between Austria and the Principality of Liechtenstein runs through the lake.
Each winter since the Liechtenstein Alpine Club has created a huge ice-climbing tower in Malbun.
The new ice rink in the winter resort of Malbun is ideal for ice skating, ice hockey or 'Eisstockschiessen', a traditional game similar to curling.
The "Sareiserhöhe" is a mountain ridge near the top of the chairlift from Malbun. It serves as an ideal starting point for skiers and snowboarders to head back down into the valley on the excellent pistes.
Snowshoeing is great fun - be it as a team activity, an evening walk before a well-deserved fondue with friends, or simply as a way to relax and forget the stresses and strains of everyday life!
Malbun Ski and Snowboard School offers private tuition and group courses for children and adults of all abilities. There are also taster courses and beginners' courses for snowboarding.
Until January 8, 2017 there will be a big open air ice rink and a cozy cottage restaurant.
Stroll through Vaduz with a local guide, toast the Principality with a cup of mulled wine and enjoy the local cuisine with a 3-course menu.
Since the highest point of the Liechtenstein Trail is only about 1100 metres above sea level, the entire route can usually be completed during the winter months.
