Even little bakers can join with this classic recipe for nougat cookies
Ingredients (for 30 pieces
- 100g sugar
- 200g butter
- 300g flour
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 200g ground hazelnuts
To coat and fill
- 1 egg white
- 100g chopped hazelnuts
- 200g Nutella
Preheat the oven to 200° top and bottom heat
Prepare the dough
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and knead them with your hands or a food processor to form a firm shortcrust pastry.
Form the dough into a long roll and wrap it in cling film.
Place the roll in the freezer for about 1 - 2 hours.
Brush the outside of the unwrapped roll with the egg white.
Roll the roll in the chopped hazelnuts.
Cut the roll into 0.5 cm slices and place them on a perforated tray covered with baking foil.
Bake the cookies for 12 - 15 minutes.
Take the cookies out of the oven and let them cool completely.
Melt the Nutella and spread it evenly over half of the cookies, placing a second cookie on top of each as a lid.
Place the cookies in the refrigerator for about 1 hour and let the Nutella set.
