Easter cake

This Easter cake is sure to delight any guest!

 

Ingredients

  • 400g butter
  • 380g sugar
  • 1 package vanilla sugar
  • 8 eggs
  • 600g flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 25g cocoa powder
  • 200ml milk

For Decoration

  • Powdered sugar

 

Preparation

Preheat oven to 180 °C top and bottom heat.

Dark dough

For the dark dough, mix 200g butter with 190g sugar and vanilla sugar.

Stir in 4 eggs a little at a time.

Mix 300g flour with 2 tsp baking powder and 1 pinch salt and 25g cocoa powder.

Stir alternately with 100ml milk to the dough.

Pour the dough into the greased baking pan and smooth it down.

Bake in preheated oven for approx. 55 min.

Allow to cool completely before proceeding.

Cut the cake into slices about 2 cm thick.

Use a bunny cutter to cut a bunny out of each cake slice. 

Light dough

For the light dough, again mix 200g butter with 190g sugar.

Stir in remaining 4 eggs a little at a time.

Mix 300  flour with 2 tsp baking powder and 1 pinch salt and stir into the dough alternately with 100ml milk.  

Pour about 2-3 tablespoons of batter into the pan and smooth it out.

Place the bunnies in a row next to each other in the loaf pan, press down a little.

Now spoon the remaining light batter into the pan, filling the gaps with it. 

Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes.
