Penitential processions
Penitential processions and marches are still a regular part of life in all of Liechtenstein's municipalities.
Penitenial processions are held through the fields on the Feast of the Ascension in the hope of receiving a good harvest, while a shorter procession takes place through the village on Corpus Christi.
Altars decorated with flowers are erected in many locations and used as places of prayer and reflection. The tradition of holding evening processions during Rogation Week has now largely disappeared.
